About the Doctor |
A Sheffield University medical graduate, Dr Mohammed Fauzi Abdul Rani began his medical training in 1992 in Sheffield, England. He became a Consultant Chest Physician in 2000, including 4 years as a Chest Consultant in London. In 2008, he was appointed the medical faculty dean for IIUM where he was also a Senior Professor in Medicine.
Dr Mohammed Fauzi is vastly experienced in managing many chest diseases having worked both in England and Malaysia. His keen interest in respiratory medicine is reflected by his extensive journal publication, in particular on management of chronic chest conditions such as COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Diseases and Occupational Lung Diseases. Dr Mohammed Fauzi is very active academically and has given many conference and seminar lectures related to his specialty or medical education.
At TMC, patients with a suspected lung problem will be promptly and thoroughly assessed including the use of advanced imaging techniques and invasive procedure such as bronchoscopy or percutaneous lung biopsy. This will allow a prompt diagnosis to be made and suitable treatment commenced. Any patients with chronically progressive lung conditions can also be assessed for treatment such as home oxygen therapy or ventilation and exercise program. Suitable patients may also undergo home sleep assessment to exclude sleep disordered breathing. |
